कार्यकरणकर्तृत्वे हेतुः प्रकृतिरुच्यते ।
पुरुषः सुखदुःखानां भोक्तृत्वे हेतुरुच्यते ॥
Prakriti is said to be the cause in the production of the effect and instruments; Purusha is said to be the cause in the experience of pleasure and pain.
कार्य‑करण की कर्तृत्व‑कारण प्रकृति है; और सुख‑दुःख के भोक्तृत्व का कारण पुरुष है।
